A Note to Our Friends and Clients

Dear friends and clients,

The death of my friend Morris Fishman, the founder of ISC Services, is a significant personal loss to me. He was a true joy to work with, a great travel companion, a gifted actuary, and a business partner like none I’ve ever known.

Now life, and business, must go on. The ISC Services Morris left behind is ready to carry on his legacy, delivering the most accurate LE reports in the Life Settlements industry. Most of you know me as Morris’s constant business companion over these past 4+ years, scowling as he picked up the tab or ordered the expensive wine. With Morris’s passing, I have assumed the role of Acting CEO of ISC Services. I have nearly 30 years experience with the challenges of running small, fast-growing companies. That said, I have learned to enjoy better wine over the past few years. Thank you, Morris!

Morris built a very strong foundation at the actuarial heart of ISC Services that sets us apart from others in the field. Now Rick Bergstrom, a long-time Society of Actuaries member, has agreed to increase his role with the company. Rick’s reputation in the industry is on a par with Morris’s. Rick is well versed in ISC Services and our actuarial methodology, having been our official outside auditor since our incorporation in 2005. I strongly believe that Rick is precisely the person Morris would have recommended to step in and help at this time.

Morris worked hard over the past few years to grow our technological strengths, to speed turn-around of LEs and ensure the consistent high-quality work for which ISC Services is known. Morris brought in Roger Tafoya this past winter as Vice President and Chief Underwriter, adding another seasoned veteran to the management team. An experienced Chief Underwriter with strong management experience, Roger’s role running the day-to-day operations of ISC Services is even more valued now.

Morris Fishman poured his heart and soul into ISC Services. As my colleagues and I build on Morris’s foundation, I look forward to working with you in the months and years ahead.
