ISC Services 2009 Mortality Tables

Re: ISC 2009 Mortality Tables

We are pleased to implement our newest mortality tables, effective January 1, 2009.

In general, changes include the following:

For non-smokers:

  1. Longer Life Expectancies (3 to 12 months) at age 65 and younger
  2. Smoother mortality table over age 65 resulting in changes from 1 month shorter to 7 months longer

For smokers, changes will be very minor.

We have also introduced a preferred underwriting class. Compared to 2008, a case that is now considered preferred could have a dramatically longer life expectancy (1-18 months for males and 1-16 months for females) than an otherwise standard class. We find this new underwriting class necessary because of the surprisingly large number of premium finance and other preferred cases.

While not significantly different than the 2008 tables in most instances, we are sure that many of you will want recent cases re-quoted. If your account is current, we will provide updated LE’s on up to 10 cases at no charge. Simply email a list of the cases you would like recalculated to contact@iscservices.com and we will email you back the 2009 life expectancy. If you would like a new assessment issued, that will be done through normal procedures.

Thank you and have a happy holiday season.

The following mortality tables show the effect of the 2009 changes to the ISC Services Mortality Tables in months. For example, a 75 year old male non-smoker rated at 100% will receive a life expectancy of 171 months, or 7 months longer than in 2008.

Female Non-smoker
